The Real Club de Polo de Barcelona has been forced to suspend the celebration of the 58th Barcelona Polo Challenge Negrita Cup scheduled for the 8th to the 10th and 15th to the 17th of May after the detection of some cases of equines in its facilities. Although the evolution of the affected horses is favorable, the entity must prioritize prevention and health safety, applying the precautionary principle against an outbreak of contagious disease following official veterinary protocols. It should be noted that this disease is not transmissible from horses to humans.

The Barcelona Polo Challenge Negrita Cup is one of the most outstanding events on the Club's sports calendar. For this reason, the organization is already working on its reprogramming on a new date, once the appropriate conditions for its celebration are given.

The Real Club de Polo de Barcelona appreciates the understanding of the participating teams, sponsors and fans, and reaffirms its commitment to organizational excellence, animal welfare and respect for sport and its protagonists.
