Real Club de Polo de Barcelona Real Club de Polo de Barcelona Members Area

Equestrian Division

The equestrian contests held at our facilities for the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympic Games endowed this division with high-quality infrastructure and full-scale services.

274 boxes hold our members’ horses, and an area with another 144 is available for visiting horses and horses in transit. In addition to the Klaus Dammann all-weather Olympic obstacle jumping track (sand), equestrian athletes have a large track for training and competitions (also sand) in the stable area and a covered training area that is large enough to host competitions. The Club also has a dressage area for athletes in this discipline. The equestrian school has both a covered and uncovered track, as well as 27 boxes for its horses. The stable area has a full-scale veterinary clinic.

The main event is CSIO Barcelona (Official International Jumping Competition of Barcelona), which was first held in 1902 and currently hosts the most important equestrian event in the world, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final. In addition to the sporting event, additional activities and various exhibitions make this event even more appealing.

The International Jumping Competition of Veteran Riders, which is held in October, is another highlight, and multiple social, regional, and national events guarantee a high level of activity for this spirited division.

Equestrian School

Equestrian sports help riders grow personally, through their relationship with horses and nature. The equestrian school provides its students with general basic training in riding and then specializes in jumping and dressage.

Stables

Real Club de Polo de Barcelona’s comfortable stables were fully renovated to hold the horses competing in the Barcelona 1992 Olympics. We have 285 boxes measuring 3.2 m2 and 23 tack rooms that offer riders private lockers. Showers, a blacksmith, a veterinary clinic, and two walkers guarantee the well-being of all the horses in residence at our facilities, in addition to the superb work facilities (tracks and training areas). Horses visiting for competitions have their own enclosure with 144 boxes, in addition to showers and locker rooms for the stable hands.
